Villas for sale in Tanah Lot
Desa Beraban, Kecamatan Kediri, Kabupaten Tabanan
Tanah Lot is first of all a temple: Pura Luhur Tanah Lot stands on a rock just off the shore, and the customary rules of Beraban village list it among the village's temples. When people say they live "in Tanah Lot", they usually mean Beraban, a village in Kediri district, Tabanan, that reaches from the coast inland to Pandak Gede. At high tide the temple seems to float, and at low tide you can walk out toward it.
Living near a site that draws large numbers of visitors every day means sharing the roads. Visitors come in numbers for the sunset and an evening dance performance, and the coastal route from Kerobokan via Munggu gets busy on holidays. The temple also holds regular ceremonies. Away from the temple area, Beraban is rice fields and banjar life, with Nyanyi Beach and ProEd's Nuanu campus nearby and central Canggu about 20 minutes away by motorbike outside rush hour, by our estimate. It suits people who want the coast and village traditions close by and can live with visitor traffic.
Foreigners usually buy on a leasehold. Near Tanah Lot, the 1994 Bhisama of the Hindu council PHDI protects zones around major temples, and how far the rules reach here is not settled in the sources we read, so make the purchase conditional on the regency's written zoning answer.
