Farming still shapes Buwit. Most residents work in agriculture, and farmland covers more than half of the village. Some work in trade and tourism, and the rice fields are the village's main draw for visitors.
Buwit sits on the Tabanan side of the regency border in Kediri district. Badung's Munggu and Cemagi lie to the south, Beraban (Tanah Lot) to the west, Kaba-Kaba to the east and Nyambu to the north. That position puts it between the Tabanan coast and the villages around Canggu: Nyanyi Beach is about 15 minutes away and central Canggu about 20 minutes by motorbike outside rush hour, by our estimate. Day to day, expect rice fields around you and a drive for shops and services. Buwit suits people who want a farming village with room around the house but need Canggu, Munggu or ProEd's Nuanu campus within reach. It is not a place to walk to the beach.
Foreigners usually buy a villa here on a leasehold. Buwit is in Tabanan, not Badung, so Tabanan's 2023 plan, its taxes and its civil registry apply even though Munggu is next door; ask the regency to confirm the zone in writing.
