Villas for sale in Pantai Lima
Between Desa Pererenan and Desa Munggu, Kecamatan Mengwi, Kabupaten Badung
You will not find Pantai Lima on a list of villages or official beaches. It is a local name ("pantai" means beach and "lima" means five), and today it is used for the stretch of coast between Pererenan Beach and Seseh, where Desa Pererenan meets Desa Munggu. On the official village boundaries, Munggu reaches the sea here in a short strip between Pererenan and Cemagi, and the point our map uses for Pantai Lima lies right by the line between the two.
The shore is part of the same open-ocean, black-sand coast as Pererenan Beach next door, with consistent waves that draw surfers. Like every beach in Bali, it is sacred ground too: the provincial spatial plan counts the sea and beaches among sacred areas, and villages hold ceremonies such as melasti, the purification before Nyepi, on the shore. Rough seas and strong rip currents have caused drownings at Bali's beaches, so check conditions before you swim. Pantai Lima suits people who want the sea within walking distance and Pererenan's village life close by.
Here, as elsewhere in Bali, foreign buyers use a registered lease (leasehold), since freehold (Hak Milik) is only for Indonesian citizens. The area sits on the border of two desa, so check which village the certificate names, and on a beachfront plot find out where the setback of at least 100 m from the highest tide line runs.
